Padlocks of love
According to Wikipedia:
Parapets screened the Pont des Arts is now support for multiple padlocks hung by couples: these are locks of love . These locks typically include entries in the marker (even inscriptions) mentioning the names or initials of two lovers, the date on which the lock was hooked, and possibly a short message.
