” The Wisdom of a Little Boy “

Grandpa- Wisdom of a little boy

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eye sight was blurred, and his steps faltered. The family ate together at the table, but the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled onto the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the messes.

“We must do something about Father,” said the son. “I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.”

The husband and wife set a small table in the corner. Grandfather ate alone there while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before dinner, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making.”

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food from when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening, the husband took Grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days, he ate every meal with the family. For some reason, neither the husband nor the wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk was spilled, or the tablecloth was soiled.

You will remember this tale tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

On a positive note, ponder the following lessons learned:

1. No matter what hap pens and no matter how bad things seem today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

2. You can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles the following things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

3. Regardless of your relationship with your parents, you will miss them when they are gone from your life.

4. Making a “living” is not the same thing as making a “life.”

5. Life sometimes gives you a second chance.

6. You should not go through life with catcher’s mitts on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.

7. If you pursue happiness, it will elude you, but if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

8. Whenever you decide something with an open heart, you usually make the right decision.

9. Even when you have pains, you don’t have to be one.

10. Everyday, you should reach out and touch some -one; people love that human touchholding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

11. You still have a lot to learn!

You should pass this on to everyone you care about!

A Street Boy Singing Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You… He’s Amazing And Very Talented!

Last OCTOBER 2, 2012, I posted about a boy who became famous in You Tube singing a Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You

Roel Manlangit from Bukidnon, Philippines

And Now He Is A Star

Roel Manlangit won the Grand Finals in Philippine Got Talent Season 4.
Finally he has his dream come true 🙂

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Can I borrow $5?

Boy

Image ReferenceLON122759(BEI1982040K142)© Ian Berry/Magnum Photos-High Res Ready

A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.

SON: ‘Mommy, may I ask you a question?’

MOM: ‘Yeah sure, what it is?’ replied the woman.

SON: ‘Mommy, how much do you make an hour?’

MOM: ‘That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?’ the woman said angrily.

SON: ‘I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?’

MOM: ‘If you must know, I make  $20 an hour.’

SON: ‘Oh,’ the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: “Mommy, may I please borrow $5?”

The mother was furious, ‘If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don’t work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.’

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut
the door..

The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down, and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $5 and he really didn’t ask for money very often. The woman went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.

‘Are you asleep, son?’ She asked.

‘No Mommy, I’m awake,’ replied the boy.

‘I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier’ said the woman. ‘It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $5 you asked for.’

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. ‘Oh, thank you Mommy!’ he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.

‘Why do you want more money if you already have some?’ the mother grumbled.

‘Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,’ the little boy replied.

‘Mommy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow.
I would like to have dinner with you.’

The mother was crushed. She put her arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.

It’s just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $20 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.  And for those mom working miles aways from home like me… Cheer up! It’s a computer world!  So just make sure that your SKYPE is open 24/7….  as if you’ve never been away at all 🙂

Have Faith In You

Every life serves a purpose.  Some that seem, at first, to have such little hope of having a place in this world, can become those with the greatest gift….hope!

Another inspiring mail I received from a friend…  Sharing is Caring.  Enjoy reading the story 🙂

This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with  2 legs.
He could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

His first owner also did not think that he could survive, and he was thinking of ‘putting him to sleep’.   But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him.   She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself.

She named him ‘Faith’.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement.  Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around.  Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk.  Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle,

Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward.  After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now.  No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him.   He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows.

There is now a book entitled ‘With a Little Faith’ published about him.

His present owner Jude Stringfellew has  given up her  teaching post and plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have  a perfect  soul’.

In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another direction.
I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day.

Faith  is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

Run Through The Rain…

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in ‘Mom let’s run through the rain,’ she said.
‘What?’ Mom asked.

‘Let’s run through the rain!’ She repeated

‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,’ Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run through the rain,’

‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.

‘No, we won’t, Mom.. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom’s arm

This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?

‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ‘If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!’

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently… No one came or left in the next few minutes…
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life.. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD let’s us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,’ Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did.. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories….So, don’t forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.
Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you’ll need each other — and don’t forget to run in the rain…

If you were inspired with this post Re- blog it please… Thank you 🙂

Andy Rooney On Women Over 50

To the women in our lives.

In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this was what Andy Rooney thought about women over 50.
Well I thought this will be nice to share to all of my co-bloggers here and that I hope you would like what you’ll read. THE CLOCK IS TICKING AND HERE WE ARE AS THE YEAR CHANGES, WE  AGE TOO. Yes, I will be 50 soon, but I treat age as one of those numbers only. Cheers!  🙂

Andy Rooney dead at 92

As I grow in age, I value women over 50 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
A woman over 50 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, ‘What are you thinking?’ She doesn’t care what you think.

If a woman over 50 doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it’s usually more interesting.

… this would be me blogging…  hehehe 🙂

Women over 50 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won’t hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it’s like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 50.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman

over 50 is far sexier than her younger

counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest.. They’ll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don’t ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 50 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it’s not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 50, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Here’s an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Andy Rooney was a really smart guy!

If you’re happy with this post, re-blog this to your page.  Thanks 🙂
